Purchasing a home in a neighborhood I dont care much about?
I have the opportunity to (rent to own) a home in an area that i never really wanted to live in. The only reason why I am even entertaining the thought of buying is because My current lease is almost up and my family and i need a lil more space..however, the house that is being offered to me is being offered at a price about $15k below market value in the area which is a good thing. I dont want to miss the opportunity to purchase a house at the price that it is being offered that could eventually become a rental property for me in the future. My concern is, if I buy this house now, jump at this opportunity, i would have to uproot my daughter from the good school that she attends now. The crazier thing is I dont like this house..its really small and i dont like the block that its on at all. I dont know what to do, I dont want to regret not buying and ping up the opportunity to have my first rental home in about 5 or so years. My husband is all for it cause he is looking forward to the space and difference from our current small 2 bdrm apt, my daughter is against it so I dont know what to do. If I didnt have to worry about the schooling this would probably be an easier decision for me. Sorry if I am confusing you but what would you do?
